Presidents Report 17/06/2008
Here we are heading into the second half of the season. At this point all three grades are on track for positions in the
semis finals. Under 18’s are third and improving each week. Reserve Grade boys keep winning matches with their no
frills easy going approach which has them at the top of the ladder. Our First Grade team also alone at the top have
met all Darryl’s requirements winning 7 out of 9 games in the first round.
What more could a club ask for.
We should be proud that we have stamped our authority as the team to beat in Round 2. After playing the last 5
games away there is light at the end of the tunnel with Macleay at home next weekend and only 2 away games this
round we have a good run home in the semis.
Congratulations to our coaches and trainers for their undying efforts in keeping our boys focused each week through
all the long distance battles.
A little bird has told me that our lovely club photographer Susie Afify nee Randall has tied the knot. I am uncertain of
all the details at this time but we would like to wish the happy couple our best wishes for a long and loving future.
As mentioned next week we host Macleay Valley at home. It’s been a while and we look forward to welcoming our
supporters back to Coramba. Pete and Denise and Wendy will be raring to go in the canteen.
Under 18’s report
Last weeks game against Nambucca proved a huge hurdle for our young Under 18's with Warren and Jeff
implementing some new game plans and the boys showed that they are eager to please winning the game 56-12.
Warren indicated that at times the boys lapsed into individual plays which hampered the effectiveness of team set
moves however when they focused on what they were asked at training the quality of their game shone through. A
great team effort enhanced the victory.

Reserve Grade Report
Rumours abound that Nambucca may not have had numbers in reserve grade which proved to be wrong. Our
reserve grade amazes us each week. On game day they seem to be a little too relaxed with players casually getting
ready with 10-15 minutes to kick off. Some may be worried but not the Reggies and however they rock up they play
exactly the type of footy that is required to beat their opposition on the day. Regular training sessions and fellowship
on Saturday seem to be the key for Jason’s team to constantly defeat their rivals. Last weeks game against
Nambucca with 2 quick tries seemed to have us pegged but with the calibre of players which graces our reserve grade
squad they had no problems finishing the game with a 54-24 win. Well done lads!

First Grade
Not pretty - not clinical enough - combined with frustrating officials reasonably sums up the first grade game against
Nambucca. The game was played well below our usual standards with low set completions handing possession to a
pumped Nambucca side. As we have seen each game has moments of brilliance which shows why we are on top of
the competition ladder and we can be sure that Darryl will address the problem areas. Thankfully whenever Nambucca
got too close we evened the score with our supreme skill and determination to keep us confidently in front
All negatives aside we came home with a 44-32 win.
Players Player and Coaches Award for the game went to Paul Tomlinson for his outstanding attack and defensive
game. He’s not just Mr Reliable….. he is Mr Remarkable - Well Done Thommo!
