This week saw the Axemen take on the Coffs Comets at their home ground.  With the Ken Orr memorial shield up for grabs the
First Grade boys were determined to turn around a disappointing start to the season.  The scores were locked up leading into
the halftime break with some good football coming from both sides however in the final quarter Coffs managed to take away
the two points winning 30 - 20.  Within an injury ridden side there were some strong performances particularly from Will
Gregson who's currently filling in some big shoes at hooker for Gonzo who is out with a broken hand.  To add to the
disappointment of a loss Mike Castle sustained a major injury to his forearm.  All of our thoughts go out to Mike who has had
a disheartening start to the season. Next weeks game will be an important one for all grades against the Rooster's at home.
With two more home games following it's important that all grades utilise the home ground advantage to try and get on a roll
heading into the second round.  Hopefully we can get a strong crowd there for all three home games to cheer on the boys.
